FUSE is interested in writing that examines artworks and cultural events in terms of the relationship between political
issues and contemporary culture. Articles to be considered for publication should provide a critical context for the
work or event being addressed. Ideally, they should also provide some evaluation of the ways in which these works
or events might encourage or facilitate social change. We are seeking writing in which strong opinions are developed
through informed analysis. Keep in mind that FUSE is a magazine, not an academic journal. Our audience is typically
well educated, but diverse, so knowledge of specialized academic jargon or concepts should not be presumed. Guidelines FUSE accepts unsolicited submissions on an ongoing basis,
which are reviewed by our editorial committee. Response to an unsolicited
submission can take up to six weeks. (There are no deadlines for submitting
material to the magazine.) Submissions Before submitting, please explore our website to familiarise yourself with the type of content that FUSE is interested
in. All submissions should emailed as an attachment to the attention of the editorial committee. Please do not include
high res images with your submission, nor embed images in electronic documents. We will accept hardcopy submissions,
but will not return manuscripts or packages. Slides must be accompanied by an SASE to be returned. Acceptance Writers should not assume acceptance of their work for publication until they have received confirmation from the
FUSE Editorial Committee. Articles accepted for publication will be edited. Upon acceptance, FUSE purchases First
North American Serial Rights and copyright reverts to the writer after publication. Pay Rates FUSE pays $0.10 per published word on publication, except for reviews, which receive $150, and Artist Projects, which
receive $250. As part of their payment, contributors receive five copies of the issue in which their work appears
and a one year subscription to the magazine. |
